"BONJOUR LES VAGUES" - Screen Print

Mathieu Razavet, also known as AUTOMATIQUE, is a surfer, a Breton and an artist. He creates linocuts and screen prints by hand using traditional techniques. He draws inspiration for his work from the world of surfing, the sea, Brittany, music and graphic design.

‘Bonjour les vagues’ is a two-colour screen print in which text becomes landscape. A halftone photograph, bold typography and a vibrant colour palette combine to create an image that straddles the line between a poster and a contemporary print. An ode to those first steps towards the sea, to instant joy and to the evocative power of childhood memories.

There may be slight variations between prints. Each print is produced by hand in my studio.

NOTICE: This work was created using screen printing with fluorescent inks. Fluorescent pigments are sensitive to light and, in particular, to ultraviolet rays. Their intensity may change and fade gradually and naturally over time, depending on the conditions of exposure. This change is a technical characteristic of the medium used and does not constitute a manufacturing defect. For optimal preservation, it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
