Louis‘s Diary - Day 1-2
Day one : 29-10-22
The day started with a bang. After 3 hours of sleep, my friend Leo joined me: Direction Cherbourg.
Arriving at the port, we couldn't seem to pass a single customs/police checkpoint (3 in all) without being arrested.
"Do you have anything to declare, gentlemen? No? Well, open the trunk anyway.”
You should have seen their desperate looks when they discovered our heap of boards, (8 in all) suits, portable showers, cases of wine and so on!
"Drive on, have a good trip!”
Leo and I have always been into surfing. A fortnight ago, over a pint, we promised ourselves we'd go surfing in Scotland. When his holidays are over, he'll go back to Brest whilst I'll stay in England and Ireland indefinitely. Our goal? To surf and have fun.
A 3m swell is coming on Thursday, and considering the forecast, it's going to last.
We spent the evening with four Irish girls who had come to Edinburgh for the weekend. It was a very crazy night, punctuated by Guinness and big glasses of whiskey. Edinburgh is a city where one hears several languages in the pub, where the girls are more beautiful than anywhere else, and all the decor is like in Harry Potter.
