Jacques de Kerdrel

The Breton illustrator Jacques de Kerdrel grew up in the department of Finistère, the westernmost part of France surrounded by the waves of the Atlantic.
He has been working as a graphic designer and illustrator since 1995 and was fortunate enough to be involved in the creation of entire projects right from his first job as a ‘creative’. His career has enabled him to constantly seek out diverse and interesting graphic themes and intuitively contribute illustration proposals, a task that inspires him and gives him endless pleasure.
During his six years of responsibility for all communication at the Centre de Découverte des Algues and the Comptoir des Algues in Roscoff, he had the opportunity to master the entire graphic chain from start to finish and develop editorial skills.
The passionate sailor and surfer has been painting and drawing in his studio in St. Pol de Leon for many years. Inspired by the ocean, the waves, the spirit and lifestyle of surfing, Jacques immortalizes this feeling on his canvases.
Jacques de Kerdrel:
"My illustration want to talk about the pleasure of surfing, without every idea of competition or style. Only sharing a nice moment in a generous nature witch belong to every one.
My choice is voluntarily cheerful and naïve, the characters are round and uninhibited, contrary to marketing stereotypes ; Illustrations to give to smile and to open brackets of carefreeness."
Some of his prints are available in our shop.
