Issue #29:
JEFFREY KIEFFER
The young Australian makes us daydream with his calm but spectacularly beautiful photography.
BOUND TO MEXICO
Between volcanoes, waves, cacti and tequila, we embark on one of the most classic surf trips you can travel. The legendary coasts of Mexico.
VANS DUCT TAPE
During the best surf event in the world, the Vans Duct Tape, we meet not only the best longboarders in the world in Cape Town, but also Benny Urban, a native of Hamburg. Benny is one of the most famous snowboard pros our country has produced. In between heats we talked about innovation and alternatives in our board sports.
DEATH ALLEY
Your wetsuit doesn't just stink after peeing in it too much and leaving it wet for too long. In one Louisiana community, there's a fog of toxic substances in the air due to the production of neoprene. Our friend Lewis Arnold got to the bottom of the stench and hopefully his documentary "The Big Sea" will get the ball rolling.
LEGENDS NEVER DIE
This year two films were released about two of the most important personalities of our boardsport world. On the one hand the film "Dear Rider" about the inspiring life work of snowboard legend Jake Burton, who passed away this year, and on the other hand the film "The Yin & Yang of Gerry Lopez", which gives us a deep insight into the life of "Mr. Pipeline".
WILD HEARTED LAND
We visited Oman, a country spared from mass tourism, which has kept its originality and gives you many reasons why you should go there soon. We have collected these arguments and are still dreaming about the waves, wild mountain regions, perfect camping spots, endless deserts and the most hospitable people we have had the pleasure to meet in a long time.
THE AUTMN DRIZZLE
It's raining outside and leaves are falling from the trees in the forest. It's autumn and while most of us are slowly but surely curling up on the couch, Christiane Hube quickly charges up the batteries of her camera and heads off into the woods outside her front door. Her goal, spectacular photos that drive us to get off our butts and finally see some sense in this sluggish weather.
