In this impressive photo book Carolina Amell portrays female surfers around the globe. Across all continents, cultures, religions and age groups, it shows a female surfing culture: independent and self-determined. These include the Moroccan surf champion Meryem El Gardoum, or Liz Clark, who sails the world in search of the best surf spots. The Filipino surf sisters Kit and Aping Agudo, as well as Easky Britton from Ireland, who teaches surfing to Iranian women. Not to forget Leia Marasovich, who combines surfing with yoga, and Anne Taravet, who, at the age of 60, still surfs with passion. These are just a few of the numerous portraits that show the diverse personalities of the athletes with spectacular images and inspiring statements.
