LixSan is originally from Colombia and has lived in her adopted home of Hamburg for over twenty years. In her art, she combines the vibrant colours of her Colombian roots with the diverse influences of her time in Germany.

Whether typography, calligraphy, mural painting or illustration - LixSan likes to try out new things and is guided by her curiosity. Her abstract works and collages are intimate portraits of her own journey and address themes such as love, relationships and the facets of being a woman. 

The sea is more than just a source of inspiration for LixSan - it is a place of peace and freedom that always reminds her of her home in Colombia. The waves, the smell of the sea and the endless colours of the water give her a feeling of space and security at the same time. A few years ago, she discovered surfing through surfskating, which has only strengthened her connection to the sea.
