Benjamin Schmuck
16 year old Benni is a river surfer from Austria. Aside from shredding inland waves, he’s a passionate environmental advocate and has been concerned with the welfare of the world from a young age. As well as converting to a vegetarian diet, he wanted to help save the planet in terms of surfing. "I noticed how much plastic waste is created by broken fins and then, while looking for a solution to this problem, I came across your recycled fins through Instagram!”
Putting our fins to good use he went on to become vice state junior champion in the Austrian State Championship in 2021, and also made the semi finals in the Open category at the CitywaveProWorldTour2022 in Regensburg.
Benny is a boy of many hobbies. When the wave pools are closed you’ll find him skateboarding, and come winter he’s up a mountain skiing and snowboarding. He loves to edit short clips of his surfing, walk his beloved family Labradors, play guitar and take photos.
Whilst he’s only been surfing for 3 years, the future is bright for this rising star, and we’re stoked to be supporting Benni on his journey of surfing, skating and saving the world.
