Meet Milda — Lithuanian surfer, co-founder of Nereidės, and proof that a career pivot can absolutely lead you straight into the ocean. Nereidės is the water community she built to get women moving, connecting, and falling in love with water — together.
After 15 years living it up in London and a killer career in fashion, moving back to Lithuania flipped the script entirely. Turns out surfing could be part of home life too — from the Baltic Sea's moody, unpredictable waves to the brand-new Citywave Vilnius, which handed Lithuanians a real ticket into the fast-growing surf scene. And she doesn't stop at surfing — winters mean snowboarding, and you'll just as often find her surfskating with her squad.
What began as a personal obsession snowballed into a full-blown mission: grow the local surf scene, build a fierce and supportive circle of women around water sports, and prove that it's never too late to switch lanes and chase something new. Now, splitting her time training and competing in both ocean and rapid surfing, Milda's just as pumped about lifting others up as she is about her own progress. Through Nereidės, women show up for workshops, social rides, surf trips, and water experiences built to grow confidence, connection, and a real bond with the water.
With 17+ years in fashion and luxury under her belt, Milda's also all-in on conscious choices and sustainability — no compromises. She's loud about pushing for more responsible practices across every industry, surfing especially, and firmly believes the sport's future has to protect the very environment that makes it possible.
