KIKI NATURAL SURF WAX
The idea for KIKI Natural Surf Wax was born in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. During the COVID-19 lockdown, founder Kerstin realized that conventional surf wax was not only harmful to the environment, but also to our health. Determined to create a better option – natural, sustainable and fair – she set to work.
One evening in Lisbon the story took off. After a few glasses of wine, Kerstin, who had been making lip balm for herself and her friends for years, came up with the idea of making surf wax from beeswax and other ingredients she had in her cupboard. The first batch of wax was born. The next day she came across the shocking realization of how toxic traditional surf wax is to the planet and surfers. She shared her discovery with other surfers, most of whom had no idea about it. Here Kerstin recognized the opportunity to change something and protect our oceans.
After months of research and numerous experiments, she found the recipes that are used at KIKI today. KIKI Natural Surf Wax is not just a product, but a symbol that committed individuals can create positive change.
