Aksi Semenova

Meet Aksinia, known simply as Aksi in the Rapid Surf Community. At just 16 years old, she has already achieved amazing things, and with her perfect blend of passion, talent and down-to-earth attitude, she’s set to go far.
Aksi discovered her love for surfing at the age of 13, when her parents gave her a Citywave course as a gift. She found her true calling in surfing but she has been already grown up with a penchant for extreme sports such as skiing, snowboarding and diving.
"We spend a lot of time skiing on our native slopes in Slovakia. Since early childhood, my brother and I often went to the same mountains for small hikes in the summer."

"When surfing, I love the feeling of freedom on the wave,” she says. “It’s like mastering the elements.”
Her talent soon became apparent: at 15, she won the Urban Surf Open in Switzerland (U16 girls), and at 16 she secured victory in the Rapid Surfing League 2024. She is particularly proud to be the first female surfer in the world to land a backside shove-it – hats off to her!

When she’s not competing, Aksi surfs at her favourite spots – from the ocean waves in Morocco and Indonesia to the tranquil Dikova Voda in Bratislava, which she cherishes for its beauty and sense of community.
"Since 2023, I've been surfing in the ocean. My first trip was to Bali. I fell in love with ocean surfing. As I continued to improve in deep surfing, I also learned ocean surfing."
But she also feels a special connection to the Moscow Citywave, where it all began.
Alongside surfing, she finds balance in music: she has been playing the violin for eight years and has recently started learning the guitar. “Music and surfing are my two great passions,” she says. “Both give my life rhythm – one through the waves, the other through the melodies.”

However, her love isn’t reserved solely for her family and surfing; she still has plenty left over for her two cats and two small dogs. Although surfing will always play a major role in her life, she sees her professional future lying in a different field. "My dream is to study international relations at the Vienna University."
With her authentic nature, her dedication and her infectious enthusiasm, Aksi embodies everything that surfing is all about. We can’t wait to see where our journey with Aksi takes us; one thing’s for sure, it won’t be boring.
Welcome to the team, Aksi! 🌊
