An exclusive location is by no means a quality feature for a whiskey, unless it is produced on the North Sea island of Föhr as a single farm whiskey. The Hinrichsen family has been running their farm on Föhr since 1630, constantly striving to adapt to the demands of the times and always willing to try out new things.

The last big step taken by the nature-loving family was the switch to organic farming, along with species-appropriate animal husbandry, circular economy and the use of renewable energies.

Producing whiskey had nothing to do with economic necessity, but rather was the fulfillment of a dream. All the necessary ingredients such as organic barley, organic rye, the best groundwater and rough, salty North Sea air are right on the doorstep. So why not use the gifts of nature and ancient knowledge and fulfill your dream of owning your own whiskey distillery?

Not only do the ingredients grow on the farm's own fields, but all production steps also take place on site. The grain is malted directly on the farm, then germinates on the malting floor in the clear North Sea air and is turned manually and dried gently.

After distillation in their own copper still, the malt spirit obtained is stored in oak barrels on the farm's maturing floor. The harsh North Sea climate gives the whiskey its own unique flavor.

This is also confirmed by various awards, including the World Whiskey Award 2024 in the sustainability category - one of the most important awards in the world.
