Backwood Boards develops and sells wooden sports equipment and surfboard kits. There love for the sea and passion for surfing brought them to surfboard construction many years ago. The desire to practice this passion more consciously and sustainably gave rise to the idea of using renewable raw materials. At the Aachen location, Backwood combines technical competence and social commitment.  

Locally grown Paulownia wood from NRW forms the core of these environmentally friendly boards. The high volume creates a stable, easy to paddle retrofish that is also suitable for beginners or heavier surfers. Speed does not have to be sacrificed due to the flat rocker and the light single concave. Characteristic for the Mantaray are the boxy rails, the deep swallow tail and a classic Future Twin setup. 

Backwood boards like REBEL FIN and they are part of our growing network. They built two boards especially for us and we have them in our shop in Hamburg.
